Narsarsuaq

Narsaruaq is a small community with approximately 200 people mainly employed at the airport or the associated hotel. It is an independent facility with its own power station, harbor and workshops. Narsarsuaq is located at the deepest end of the Erik fjord, which is located south of the island. Most people fly into Narsarsuaq when travelling to Greenland.

Sapmi Park

The Sampi park is a theme park that will teach you everything about the Sami culture. In addition to outdoor activities, you can also tour craft studios where they make silverware, woven fabrics and other goods.

Tåsinge

Tåsinge is a Danish island south of Funen and is famous for its castle, Valdemars Slot, which was also the setting for the death of Elvira Madigan and Sixten Sparre. Although it was constructed by Christian IV in 1643, it became the property of Niels Juel, the hero of the navy, in 1678, and was redesigned as a baroque-style building. It is open to the public, but the castle is also used as a concert venue, a gallery and place for weddings. The castle has an excellent restaurant in the basement which also features a yacht museum and a tea house. Check website for opening times.

Alta

Alta is an ancient town where you still can find remains of an ancient civilization. Norway's oldest civilization, the Komsa Kulturen, which began 10, 000 years ago, flourished in this region. The rock paintings in Jiebmaluokta, a World Heritage Site, is a must-see.

Louisiana Museum for Modern Art

This beautiful modern museum is well worth a visit, if you are interested in art and architecture. It is surrounded by lakes and coasts, making the most of its natural environment. Works by Picasso, Munch and other well known modern artists are exhibited here. It is approximately a 30 min train ride north of Copenhagen

The Norwegian Fishing Village Museum

The museum, was founded on July 3, 1987 by the Moskenes History and Museum Society in collaboration with the Moskenes municipal council and Mr. Sigurd Harald Ellingsen of Å. It features the life of the fishing village and the Lofoten Fishery over the past 200 years. It is a comprehensive and exciting coastal museum well worth a visit.

Lennakatten Railroad

Enjoy a train ride like it was in the early nineteen hundreds. Feel the warm steam of burning coal whilst savour the beautiful landscape of Uppland. Lenakatten is a steam engine that runs between Marielund, Lanna and Fjallnora during the summer. You can also experience a short 1-hour round trip.

Røkenes Farm and Guesthouse / HARR Gallery

Rokens farm has been managed by the same family since 1673. You can learn about what the surrounding areas were like back then. There is also a restaurant where you can enjoy the farm owner's home-made cooking for lunch or dinner.

Saint Knuds Church (Odense Domkirke)

The Saint Knuds church is a 13th century gothic-style church and it was here H.C Andersen was baptized. Well worth a visit!

Drottningholms Castle

Drottningsholm Castel is located about 10km west of Stockholm and is the home of the Swedish Royal family. It is partially open to the public. The baroque style building is also known as the "Versailles of the North," and it has also been designated as a World Heritage Site. It was originally built as a castle for Princess Elenora in 1662 but was later converted to the present three-storey building in 1756 after many repeated renovations. It is also possible to visit the Chinese Pavillion (Kina Slott), located at the back of the large well-maintained garden.

Statue of The Little Mermaid (Den lille Havfrue)

"The Little Mermaid"is a representative piece of Denmark's famous author, Andersen. Although mermaids are supposed to be completely fish from the waist below, the statue bears human legs up until the ankles. It is believed that this is because the model of the statue had such beautiful legs, the sculptor felt reluctant to cover her legs with scales.

The Opera House (Operan)

Called ‘Operan’ in Swedish is a historical theatre located on the southern bank of Norrmalm, facing Gamla Stan. It was originally built by Gustav III in the 18th century, but the current building was erected in Baroque style in the late 19th century.

Strindberg Museum Strindbergsmuseet

The Strindberg Museum is the house in which J.A. Strindberg (1849 to 1912), one of the greatest naturalist writers and playwrights of Sweden spent his twilight years. It is now open to the public as a museum. Some theatrical acts are also performed here.
