Kangerlussuaq

Kangerlussuaq is a settlement in west Greenland at the head of a fjord of the same name. The Kangerlussuaq area is home to Greenland's most diverse land-based wildlife (such as musk oxen, caribou, Arctic foxes and Gyrfalcons) and many sports & adventure tours operate from here. Worth visiting is also the peak of Sugar Loaf, 350m above sea level, where you can view the beautiful landscape of glaciers and the fantastic scenery of Kangerlussuaq City. Six flights weekly arrive from Copenhagen and connect to internal flights operated by Air Greenland to the capital Nuuk and Ilulissat amongst other locations.

Castle Tour of North Sjælland

Bus tour of major sightseeing spots north of Copenhagen. Starts with a tour of Kronborg Castle, which is known for providing the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet, then visits Fredensborg Castle, where the Queen resides in the summer, and finally goes to Frederiksborg Castle, which is now the National History Museum. You can also enjoy the landscapes of the rural area and coast. Viking Ship Museum

This museum exhibits 5 Viking ships from around year 1000. They were uncovered in 1962 at Roskilde Bay. From the cafeteria inside the museum, you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Roskilde Fjord over a meal.

Tåsinge

Tåsinge is a Danish island south of Funen and is famous for its castle, Valdemars Slot, which was also the setting for the death of Elvira Madigan and Sixten Sparre. Although it was constructed by Christian IV in 1643, it became the property of Niels Juel, the hero of the navy, in 1678, and was redesigned as a baroque-style building. It is open to the public, but the castle is also used as a concert venue, a gallery and place for weddings. The castle has an excellent restaurant in the basement which also features a yacht museum and a tea house. Check website for opening times.

Louisiana Museum for Modern Art

This beautiful modern museum is well worth a visit, if you are interested in art and architecture. It is surrounded by lakes and coasts, making the most of its natural environment. Works by Picasso, Munch and other well known modern artists are exhibited here. It is approximately a 30 min train ride north of Copenhagen

Ærø

Ærø is one of the Danish Baltic Sea islands, and is located in the south of Denmark. It takes approximately 1hour from Funen and Langeland by ferry to reach the island. Ærø is very idyllic and has a belt of picturesque islands around it. The main town is called Aroskobing and has a townscape that is remained untouched since the 17th century.

Saint Knuds Church (Odense Domkirke)

The Saint Knuds church is a 13th century gothic-style church and it was here H.C Andersen was baptized. Well worth a visit!

Statue of The Little Mermaid (Den lille Havfrue)

"The Little Mermaid"is a representative piece of Denmark's famous author, Andersen. Although mermaids are supposed to be completely fish from the waist below, the statue bears human legs up until the ankles. It is believed that this is because the model of the statue had such beautiful legs, the sculptor felt reluctant to cover her legs with scales.


Den Gamle By

The Old Town urban museum's 75 historical buildings, period interiors, animals and people give visitors ample opportunity to make themselves feel that they are back in a Danish market several centuries ago. The 'Den Gamle By' in Århus has received top marks as a travel destination in Denmark.

Munkebjerg Hotel

The Munkebjerg Hotel is located outside Veile in Jutland. It looks over fjords and rooms with balconies are available. Their restaurant, "Treetop," is popular for its wine cellar, which attracts many return visits from patrons. There is a golf course nearby and a unique golf museum within the hotel.

Herning Museum (Herning Kunstmuseum)

Established in 1977, Herning Kunstmuseum grew out of the active industrial life in and around Herning in the 1950s. Today, the museum''s collections consist primarily of a selection of the former Aage Damgaard collection, as well as the art collection belonging to the Municipality of Herning. A direct shuttle bus takes you to the museum from Birk Centerpark station.

Den Fynske Landsby

An open-air museum located approximately 4km south of the city centre. 25 or more farmhouses typical of Funen during the 18th and 19th century are on display. The museum consists of a farm with people living and working there during the summer. A great activity to do during the summer.
