Central Region

Central Sweden has plenty for the tourist to see and experience. In many respects, it is the heart of Swedish culture and history, home not only to the nation’s magnificent capital, Stockholm, but also to ancient and historically distinguished cities such as Uppsala and Sigtuna. Central Sweden has plenty of historical and cultural sights and attractions, castles and manor houses to visit. Highly scenic regions such as Dalarna, Värmland and Sörmland present the true essence of Swedishness in a national romantic sense, with cultural heritage and traditions from ancient times still very much alive in our present day.
